Popular standards and related knowledge of audio equipment

A speaker is a device that converts electrical signals into sound signals, and the restoration of authenticity will be an important criterion for evaluating the performance of speakers. Below, I have shared and organized some common standards and related knowledge about audio, and I welcome everyone to read and browse.

1. What is a good speaker? From a scientific and objective perspective, a good speaker is one with wide frequency response, high sensitivity, high power, balanced curve, and accurate phase. When the speaker is paired with an amplifier and pre-amp, it still maintains "consistent phase, balanced and natural frequency response curve". A good sound system refers to one that produces bright, clear, soft, and realistic sound when playing music.

A speaker with a wide frequency response exhibits strong expressiveness, high sensitivity makes it easy to drive, and high power ensures relative stability and safety. With a balanced curve and reasonable phase connection, it will not produce distortion due to internal energy consumption, thus authentically and naturally reproducing various sounds with strong layering, good separation, brightness, clarity, and softness. A speaker with high sensitivity and high power, besides being easy to drive, is more importantly capable of "overwhelming the competition" in terms of maximum sound pressure level within a stable and safe range, achieving the required sound pressure level without requiring excessive power for driving.

In terms of subjective evaluation, due to differences in personality, cultural attainment, artistic cognition, preference bias, and standards among individuals, people hold diverse opinions and describe things in varying ways.

Our comprehensive subjective evaluation is: a good speaker is one that can "produce a loud and powerful sound, yet remains bright and clear without being harsh, with a mellow listening experience, authenticity, naturalness, and good elasticity.".

As a private room speaker, it must also meet the requirements of being easy to sing, durable for singing, durable (able to Hi), and having a strong surround sound effect.

II. What is a good power amplifier? The criteria for a good power amplifier include reasonable efficiency, appropriate damping coefficient, wide frequency response, strong voltage transformation capability, normal and balanced output waveform, high signal-to-noise ratio, low distortion, and strong analytical (or resolution) power. When paired with a balanced and high-quality speaker, such a power amplifier produces sound that is clean, clear, and well-separated, with distinct listening layers.

Of course, like the voice coil of a loudspeaker, a power amplifier can generate high temperatures during operation. Therefore, it must be equipped with a reasonable circuit design, high-quality components, and a good heat dissipation device.

A high-quality power amplifier is one that meets the aforementioned conditions, can produce a soft, clear, and "transparent" sound quality when paired with a speaker, and operates stably.
